Now that I have your attention, let me tell you what I am referring to when I say make love. Dating is supposed to be fun. Some treat it like a job interview where they’re interrogating their date instead of actually listening and learning about this person. Often times there are topics that are too heavy to discuss on a first date. Such as marriage, children or no children, and oh yes the dreaded exes! We forget that this could actually be our last first date! Now if that’s true, don’t you want to find out how you can actually make love on your first date? Making love on a first date requires a recipe, or adding a few ingredients if you will. Here are the three ingredients you’ll need to make love on your first date!
A pinch of endorphins – Endorphins are designed to help keep stress levels low and give us a sense of euphoria and pleasure. Before your first date you’ve gathered some information and found out that you both like being active. Set up a date involving some form of exercise. I suggest something where you’re not too sweaty, but obtain just enough moisture to achieve the alluring “after sex glow”. Try a nice stroll on the beach or a city bike ride. Putting in a little sweat equity will help you release endorphins and create a fun first date memory.
½ cup of Mental Stimulation aka “mind sex” – Mental Stimulation is an essential part of dating, mating, and relating. Ask questions. Listen to answers. Do you have a lot in common? What about values? Do you both like to volunteer? What books have you both read recently? On your first date talk about things that will stimulate your cerebral cortex and not your down below vortex! Avoid topics that are too heavy and may scare a person off. I’m not saying subjects that are important to you shouldn’t be discussed, but a lot of times the conversation can quickly turn into a war if the other person isn’t as passionate about beer pong as we are. Playing a game of Scrabble over coffee is a great way to see whether or not you can stimulate each before you reach first base.
Add a dash of adventure and a smidge of adrenaline – Skydiving was the most adventurous fun I’ve had in my life thus far. It’s ok if dying while dating is not your thing, but let me suggest a date that involves a dose of adrenaline (a parachute ride, race car driving, or hang gliding). Goodbye comfort zone! Oxytocin is a natural hormone we produce. When released it helps us to bond with each other. A date that involves some adventure will keep boredom at bay and cultivate this powerful bonding ingredient. Oxytocin is your friend! It’s working for you behind the scenes. Isn’t falling in love supposed to be an adventure?
To make love on your first date you’ll need to create long-lasting memories. With these ingredients you’re off to a great start. Allow just enough time for baking and Voilà! Love is served! Dare to be different and try something new on your first date. Share your “making love” experience with me!
